About us

History

Hermana Holding is an investment and royalty company which has evolved from the legacy business of Sevan Marine ASA and Magnora ASA. Sevan Marine designed floating production, storage and offloading vessels (FPSOs) for the offshore oil and gas industry. In 2018 Sevan Marine sold its business except for two license agreements, in 2019 the name was changed to Magnora ASA, and after a successful transformation Magnora is today a multi-national data center and renewable energy group. In 2024 it was concluded that the royalty-based business would best be developed separately, so the same year Hermana Holding was spun off and listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange.

Current business

Hermana’s current income is from legacy FPSO design royalties. Since late 2025, the remaining royalty rights expected to generate income is the licence agreement concerning the Western Isles FPSO where Hermana is entitled to USD 0.50 per boe (barrel of oil equivalents) produced over the lifetime of the FPSO. The vessel has a production capacity of 44,000 boe per day and has a design life of 30-50 years. It is currently at yard awaiting redeployment which may be expected around 2028 although uncertain before any final investment decision is made by its owners.

In parallel, Hermana evaluates potential investments that may represent a sensible allocation of existing funds and the royalty proceeds. Hermana maintains continuous contact with management and owners of growth companies, investors, banks, and others regarding attractive opportunities.  Hermana has a pragmatic and opportunity-driven approach to capital allocation and aims to maximise return on equity within an acceptable risk level. Equity investments may be in several portfolio companies or in a larger company, e.g. involving a transformational deal.
